WOMEN ARE THE REAL ARCHITECTS OF SOCIETY

If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman. A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform. Educate a man and you educate an individual. Educate a woman and you educate a family. The empowered woman is powerful beyond measure and beautiful beyond description. No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half of its citizens. When women participate in the economy, everyone benefits. Women are the real architects of society. Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world. The higher the better. It’s more about an attitude. High heels empower women in a way.

I have passionately and skillfully practiced community development activities in different communities setting for over a decade now and I have discovered that women are greatly development oriented people and their power to unite is highly adorable. At AIC Kanzinwa Child and Youth Development Centre; KE759, is not different from the above vivid nugget. Over 95% of 373 caregivers that passionately and zealously contributes materials in kind or cash which is commonly known as parents’ contribution & local ownership are women. In fact the same percentage attends physical parents meeting. Our FCP is well known for local resource mobilization and ownership, women caregivers are the flag bearers and they steer all this noble community transformation exercise. They understood what Qavah concept entails and it is in March 2014 when it was well presented and taught to them by Compassion International Inc. Kenya staffs and as a result of that it has put us as a church and Child and Youth Development Centre in Global records not mentioning National level! Kudos to all women caregivers in our FCP. “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:30-31 NIV.
