ÇOMPLIMENTARY INTERVENTION; SHELTER RENOVATION AT KE0759

Kenya has an annual housing demand of 250,000 units with an estimated supply of 50,000 units, culminating in a housing deficit of 2 million units, or 80% deficit. Housing affordability is a key challenge in Kenya with many people unable to afford to buy or build their own home. Some 16 percent of Kenya’s population lived below 1.90 U.S. dollars per day in 2021. The extreme poverty rate in the country slightly decreased from 17 percent in 2020.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Be the sun in someone’s dark sky. It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished but it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back. No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another. “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” Booker T. Washington. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others? Give yourself entirely to those around you. Be generous with your blessings. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

At AIC Kanzinwa Child and Youth Development Centre construction of eight (8) houses or shelters for eight respective homesteads from which same number of registered beneficiaries come from are underway and the progress is commendable! Those shelters where fortunately funded by Compassion International Inc Kenya National office and we have a deadline of June that we feel that we are going to beat it by Mid April 2022! This was brought about by high levels of caregivers’ engagement, we grouped and allocated all caregivers based on their geographical location and nearness to those benefiting from these shelters and they harmoniously supported by availing locally available construction materials. We have a transparent and streamlined system for choosing those that deserves to benefit from any support that lands in this church cum project regardless of it’s source.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9
