EXAMPLARY LEADERSHIP AND PASSION BY A CAREGIVER
Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you. If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins. You can’t fake passion. If you don’t love what you do, you won’t do it with much conviction or passion. If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it. It is the soul’s duty to be loyal to its own desires. It must abandon itself to its master passion.
The real power of a leader is in the number of minds he can reach, hearts he can touch, souls he can move, and lives he can change. In leadership, the way up is down. Serve before you get served. The leader sees things through the eyes of his followers. He puts himself in their shoes and helps them make their dreams come true. The leader does not say, “Get going!” Instead he says, “Let’s go!” and leads the way. He does not walk behind with a whip; he is out in front with a banner. Change the world by your example not your opinion. Leadership is not position or a title; it’s action and example. “The three most important ways to lead people are… by example… by example… by example.” Albert Schweitzer.
Ke759 A.I.C Kanzinwa Child and Youth Development Centre have 372 caregivers of our direct beneficiaries in our program. They are well represented by one of them whose title is Parent Representative who is selected in a democracy manner, I mean all caregivers votes to select one of them to represent them and table their needs during Accountability Structure Committee meetings for discussion and actions. We are very lucky to have Mr. Michael is the Parents’ Representative at our Frontline Church Partner. He has passion for his work and he serves as a role model at his family and his personal errands.
